A rise was posted fqr Burns, Philp. Recent weakness in the Commercial Bank of Sydney was halted, and the shares rose 3s to £l9 Bs. Ampol Exploration fell Is '4|d to 16s 10jd on a nominal turnover. The downward trend in Oil Search was halted, and the shares firmed to 8s 4d. N.A.U.C., whese development costs have been substantial, fell Is to 8s 2d. A firm undertone was maintained in the investment section, and trading was active, with sales widely spread, at Melbourne yesterday. North Australian Uranium dropped Is and Ampol Exploration was also weaker, but over all a firmer tone was recorded.
