16 COMMUNIST CANDIDATES
LONDON, April 17. The “Daily Worker” says today that 16 Communist candidates will contest the General Election on May 26. They will fight 15 Labour members and one Conservative who are seeking re-election. In the 1951 elections the Communists contested eight seats. They failed to poll at least one-eighth of the total votes, and all lost their deposits.
