TOURIST PUBLICITY FOR N.Z.
AUSTRALIANS TO TOUR NORTH ISLAND
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 12.
Four Australian journalists and radio executives would arrive in the Wanganella next Monday to see something of New Zealand’s tourist attractions. said the Minister of Tourist and Health Resorts (Mr E. H. Halstead) today. The party will comprise Miss Helen Gordon, feature writer of an Australian women’s weekly newspaper; Mr H. E. Cameron, president of the Press Association; and Mr R. H. C. Pollard and Mr Gordon Radcliffe, Sydney and Orange radio station executives.
The Minister said the party had been invited to New Zealand by the Tourist and Publicity Department, in association with a number of New Zealand travel firms, as part of a combined publicity campaign to attract tourists from Australia during the autumn. Their tour would embrace Palmerston North, Wanganui, New Plymouth, Waitomo -Caves. Wairakei and Taupo, Rotorua. Whakatane, Tauranga, and Auckland, said the Minister.
