CONSUL GENERAL IN SAN FRANCISCO
AUSTRALIAN TRANSFERRED
FROM WELLINGTON (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 12. Mr H. H. Marshall, Acting-High Commissioner for Australia in New Zealand, has been appointed ConsulGeneral for Australia in San Francisco. He will leave Wellington for his new post, accompanied by Mrs Marshall, on May 10. Mr O. L. Davis, of the Department of External Affairs, Canberra, will succeed Mr Marshall as Acting High Commissioner. Accompanied by Mrs Davis, he will at Wellington from Australia on May 7. In San Francisco, Mr Marshall will succeed Mr Stewart Jamieson, who has been appointed Consul-General in New York.
Mr Marshall arrived in Wellington in October, 1953, from South Africa a s Official Secretary. Since the recent departure of Mr P. R. Heydon on the latter’s appointment to New Delhi as High Commissioner, Mr Marshall has been Acting-High Commissioner. Mr Davis joined the Department of External Affairs in 1946. He has been First Secretary at Washington and Official Secretary at Karachi.
