Durable Eggs
A Taranaki schoolteacher, Mr C. McManemin, kept an egg for a year —from Good Friday, 1954, to last week —and found it remained fresh. He put the egg in a cupboard, and when he took it out on Good Friday he was prepared to bury it deep in his garden, but when he cracked it there was no smell and he was convinced it was fresh. Tests had shown that m certain conditions eggs could keep r a remarka bly long time, said W. Gray, secretary of the Com-po-pperative Distributors, Ltd. of Christchurch, when asked to comment on the Taranaki experiment. The egg would keep fresh for a long lf 5 was Wealthy, sound in the 30(1 Particularly if it was infertile.
