MR HOWE IN SYDNEY
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 10 p.m.) SYDNEY. April 11. The Canadian Minister of Trade and Commerce (Mr C. D. Howe) arrived by air from Vancouver today on a two weeks’ goodwill tour of Australia. The Australian Minister of Suooly (Mr Howard Beale), representing the Prime Minister (Mr Menzies), and the South Wales Premier (Mr J. Cahill* met Mr Howe, who was. aconmoanied by the Deputy Minister of Trade and Commerce (Mr W. F. Bull). Mr Howe said th*? was primarily to strengthen Commonwealth ties.
Included in Mr "Howl’s Australian itinerary are visits to the Snowy Mountains hydro-electric project and the Radium Hill uranium mining centre in South Australia.
