WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FEDERATED FARMERS

Bolleston.—Mrs Pearce- presided at the February meeting of the Rolleston branch of the woman’s Division of Federated Farmers. Arrangements were made for the fourth annual ball. A general competition given by Mrs Buchan was won by Mrs. S. Pearce. Hostesses were Mesdames Roberts and Brosnahan sen. Competition results were as follows:—Spike. Mrs P. Davison 1, Mrs M. G. Martin presided over a Well attended meeting of the Clarkville-West Eyreton branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. A motion of sympathy was passed with Mrs I. L. M. Coop and the Pearce family. A report on the Canterbury North provincial executive meeting was read. It was decided to give '£2 2s to the provincial funds towards the inter-provincial conference expenses. It was decided to hold the annual picnic at the Pines Beach cn March 17 .to coincide with the visiting of Bay of Plenty members. Birthday sprays were presented to Mrs G. Brown, Mrs W. Darfield.— The monthly meeting of the Darfield Women’s Division of Federated Farmers was held recently at which Mrs W. McKay presided. A motion of sympathy was passed with the relatives of Mrs Dale. Members were reminded of the inter-provincial conference at Rangiora March 8. Arrangements for the group display to be held at Hcrorata on March 17 were made and members were allocated to do the decorative work required. Mrs R. S. Gunn and Mrs Berwick were appointed to take charge of the bay at the group meeting. Mrs G. W. Fairweather was to be * the guest speaker for that day. The collection for charities totalled 12s. Mrs B. Bedford then gave an interesting demonstration of glove making. Mrs H. Ede, of Waddington gave a humorous and instructive talk on her recent trip to Australia.
