70 Holiday Deaths In Australia
(Rec. 11.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 11. At least 70 persons have been killed in Easter holiday accidents in Australia, according to unofficial figures tonight. Most ’ a been road deaths. The numb' ijured is still unestinated, bqt in New South Wales alone yesterday more than 150 persons were hurt in road accidents.
Eleven persons died in air crashes—six when a Royal Australian Air Force Lincoln bomber hit a mountain on a mercy flight in Queensland on Saturday, and five when an aero club Auster aircraft got out of control and crashed into a paddock at Forbes (New South Wales) yesterday. Several persons lost their lives by drowning. A two-year-old boy died after falling into a tub which his father had filled with boiling water to pluck a fowl.
Police fear the road toll may be greater yet as motorists make their way home tonight on busy highways.

Union
(Rec. 11 < p.m.) ROME- April 11. Members of Parliament from about 30 countries, including European Communist nations, will meet in Rome tomorrow for committee meetings of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. They will prepare resolutions for the union’s annual conference at Helsinki in August, at which the main theme will be "conditions of true peaceful coexistence.”
