ARMY TRAINEES INSPECTED
PASSING-OUT PARADE AT BURNHAM
Departing somewhat from the customary formal inspection at passingout parades, the Commander of the Southern Military District (Brigadier J. T. Burrows) on Saturday saw trainees of the fifteenth intake of youths under pie compulsory military training scheme displaying their skill at their newly-learnt duties at Burnham Military Camp. After seeing the trainees “run through their paces,’’ Brigadier Burrows spoke to the assembled battalion and congratulated them on the progress they had made during their spell in camp. This intake, to judge from progress reports he had received and from his inspection that day, was as good as any of its predecessors at the camp, he said. He hoped the trainees would maintain their standard when they joined their territorial units.
Brigadier Burrows also congratulated the battalion commander and camp commandant (Lieutenant-Colonel F. L. H. Davis) and the other members of the Regular Force on the standard reached by the intake.
