CHEVIOT ROADS
Sir,—The old dozer was shot and ■was costing more than the hired machine to run. The crushing plant is run week in week out, with an output of 140 yards a day. Every machine must break down now and again,
especially in dusty conditions. I know exactly what goes on every day of the working year. I think “Shaken Up” loves to listen to rumours for which Cheviot is notorious, to my sorrow. As to the trucks, “Shaken Up” can’t go very far from home. Every occupier is by law compelled to keep his frontage clear of noxious weeds and overhanging branches. A lot of rates go to cutting back the occupiers’ trees and weeds.—Yours, etc , STOP GRIZZLING.
