CRICHTON COBBERS’ CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING The building of a cookhouse and kitchen at the Crichton Cobbers’ Club’s camp at Annat had been made possible by generous donations of materials and voluntary work undertaken by tradesmen interested in the club’s activities, said the president (Sir John McKenzie) at the annual meeting. It was the first such meeting since the club became incorporated. Sir John McKenzie also referred to other repairs and alterations being made to the club’s buildings. In his report, Mr J. Bruorton, the club director, said that the year had been very successful and all sections had progressed satisfactorily. Thanks were expressed to all those who had assisted the club, and special reference was made to the club instructors and St John Ambulance officers for their attendance on club nights. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr Justice Adams; president Sir John McKenzie; management committee. Messrs E. H. Buckeridge, F. H. Brown, J. Bruorton. A. I. Cottrell, G. Dryden, S. Eley, J. Ferrier, R. Fleck. A. K. Hadfield, P. Harrison, E. Jones, H. B. Kay, R. Lester, H. A. Mackrell, T. T. Robins, and E. Woodhead; treasurer, Mr F. H. Brown; auditor, Mr W. G. Quirk; doctors, Dr. W. Minty and Dr. C. E. Reid; club director. Mr J. Bruorton, M.8.E.; secretary, Miss S. Lilly.
