PARLIAMENTARY SESSION
CABINET DISCUSSES BILLS (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 21. The Prime Minister (Mr Holland) announced tonight at the end of today's meeting of the Cabinet that six public bills were ready to be submitted to the Caucus. Mr Holland also said that members of the Cabinet today discussed capital expenditure for different Government departments and reviewed expenditure for the current education programme. A report on the recent S.E.A.T.O. conference at Bangkok and his subsequent visit to Saigon, the capital and seat of government in South Vietnam, was made to the Cabinet today by the Minister of External Affairs (Mr T. L. Macdonald). Although Mr Holland had no comment to make on Mr Macdonald’s report, it is thought that the Minister also discussed with the Cabinet the possibility of New Zealand, as a S.E.A.T.O. partner, establishing diplomatic or trade representation in South-east Asia.
