GUN DOG TRIALS
CANTERBURY CLUB’S EVENTS The Canterbury Gun Dog Club held its •Pening trials for 1955 at the Waihora Club’s grounds, Motukarara, last Sunday. Although entries -were not as high as usual because of unsettled weather, the grounds were in very good condition and there were some fine performances. The judges were:—open class, Mr M. P. Leathern; limit, Mr C. J. Sowden; handicap event, Mr W. Streeter. Results Open, Land and Water Combined. —J. Stan tori and O. Hartley-Smith’s English springer spaniel Dalkey Dabble, 192 Poidts, 1. Limit Land.—Mrs M. Marks’s Labrador. Don of Redwood Valley, 77, 1; R. Moore’s Labrador, Aidershot Bess, 75, 2: W. Bird’s cocker spanie'. Lucky Juke, 65. 3. Limit, V ' R. Moore’s Labrador. Aidershot E. 1; Mrs M. Marks’s Labrador, Don c Redwood Valley. 85. 2: J- Stanton and O. Hartley-Smith’s English springer spaniel. Dalkey Dignity, and R. M. Morten’s clumber spaniel. Ch. Erian Baromy of Gunnery, imp.. 73 (equal) 3. Handicap Land Event.—E. Briden’s cocker spaniel, San Pedro Boy, 110, 1: W. Bird’s cocker spaniel, Lucky Juke. 106. 2; Mrs M.
