OBITUARY
MR ARTHUR MILLER (New Zealand Press Association) HASTINGS, March 6. Mr Arthur Miller, a member of the New Zealand Apple and Pear Marketing Board, died suddenly at Hastings yesterday. He was 49. He returned last Monday from the United States and British Columbia, where he had investigated modern cool store methods. Last month Mr Miller was appointed growers’ representative on the board.
He had spent all his life in Hawke’s Bay, and had been engaged in fruitgrowing since 1924. A keen student of modern orchard practice, he had one of the largest mixed fruit farms in the Hastings district. Last year Mr Miller was elected vicepresident of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers’ Federation. He is survived by his widow and three children.
