Train Plunges Into Floodwaters

(Rec. 12.10 un.) SYDNEY, Feb. 24. Passengers fought to escape through windows as water poured - into the carriage of a mail train which jumped the rails and plunged into floodwaters near Togar, In the Hunter River Valley, about 160 miles north-west of Sydney today. The train, which was travelling from Glen Innes to Sydney, was crowded. Two carriages overturned and a third dived down a 10ft embankment, burying its nose in floodwaters from the Hunter river. None of the passengers was seriously injured.
