LEITHFIELD GALA REALISES £402
COMMITTEE ALLOCATES PROCEEDS A net profit of £402 on the Leithfield beach gala last Christmas and other holiday activities was reported by the secretary (Mr R. McClure) when the committee for this summer was wound up this week. The president (Mr F A. Penfold) reported that a merry-go-round has been purchased for the children’s playground and it was decided also to allocate £lOO for the levelling of the children’s sports ground; A tractor will be bought for the benefit of the settlement generally. Afiother improvement to be made with the funds raised is the completion of the second utility block on the camp ground to include, in addition to the present kitchen and laundry, men’s and women’s showers.
The committee, agreed that first call on future funds raised should be given to the provision of fire-fighting equipment for the settlement.
