NEW CASHMERE HOSPITAL
APPROVAL GIVEN FOR SECOND STAGE “The green light is there for Cashmere to go ahead," said Mr D. MacMillan at yesterday’s meeting of the North Canterbury Hospital Board, when the building committee, of which he is chairman, reported that departmental approval had been given the carrying out of Stage II of the Cashmere Hospital by the present contractor. The report said that Stage II would be proceeded with as soon as possible, so that its completion would coincide as nearly as possible with that of Stage The chairman of the board (Mr V. C. Lawn) said that zero hour for the first contract was May, 1957, and that stage should be completed well up to time.
