WEST COAST FOURS CHAMPIONSHIPS RESULTS OF FIRST THREE ROUNDS (From Our Own Reporter) 4 GREYMOUTH. February 23. Seventy-eight fours, including a strong representation of 34 teams from Canterbury districts, are competing in the annual West Coast fours bowling championship tournament, which opened on six Grey district greens today in ideal weather. The greens were generally in first-class order, having benefited from recent rains. The early elimination rounds will be continued during the next three days, post section play will follow on Saturday, and the semi-finals and final are to be played on Monday next. There are a number of well-known players competing, including last year’s successful Greymouth four, skipped by L. G. Mercer.
