MILK IN SCHOOLS
FURTHER REDUCTION IN QUANTITY A further reduction in the quantity of milk supplied to schools by the Christchurch Milk Company (which supplies all schools under the free milk scheme in Christchurch) was made yesterday. On Monday about 600 gallons was supplied to schools—compared with an average daily total of about 1600 gallons—and yesterday 550 gallons was supplied. Because of the cooler weather on Monday night, less milk was rejected yesterday, and the total quantity for distribution to the schools today is expected to be about 1000 gallons.
