JUMPING SHOW AT SPOTSWOOD
The Canterbury area of the New Zea« land Horse Society held a programme oi
jumping at the Spotswood Domain to raise funds to help meet the cost of sending a team of New Zealand show jumpers and riders to compete in the next Royal Easter Show, Sydney.
More than 20 horses from North Canterbury and Blenheim competed, and the standard of jumping was high. The ground was in first-class condition, and events were watched by a large crowd of spectators.
Results:— Maiden jump (12): E. Upritchard’s Landrover 1, E. Upritchard’s Drybread Mrs E. G. O. Rutherford’s Cressy 3, G. Blakely’s Marcus 4. Six bar event (17): E. Upritchard’s Landrover 1. B. G.. Rutherford’s Captain 2, Mrs G. H. Johnson’s Rajah 3, G. Blakely’s Marcus 4.
Open jump (20): P. Brophy’s JCeltymore 1. Mrs E. G. O. Rutherford’s Cressy 2. W. Wad worth’s McGregor 3, Miss J. Wilding’s Kim 4.
