He adopted a lower starting position than he used on Saturday night, and won by eight yards in the fast time of 9.7 sec. Hogan’s time, which was equalled by the New Zealand champion, M. Rae, on Saturday night, has been bettered officially in this country only by the 1950 dual Empire Games sprint champion, J. F. Treloar. There was • keen contest for second place, which was gained by the Auckland representative sprinter, T. Maxwell, with the 1947 Auckland 100 yards champion, D. Walker, in third place.
