Australian Loan In Switzerland

(Rec. 10 pm.) CANBERRA, Feb. 4. The Australian Government had completed arrangements to float In Switzerland a public loan of about £6,000,000, the Treasurer, Sir Arthur Fadden, said today. The Government successfully floated a loan for the same amount in Switzerland in November, 1953. Sir Arthur Fadden said the currency of the new loan would be 15 years and the interest 33 per cent. The money will be used by the Australian Loan Council for public works.

The underwriters are the same Swiss banking group led by Credit Suisse and the Swiss Banking Corporation, which arranged the 1953 loan.
