NEW STAFF QUARTERS AT CHATEAU
PLANS ANNOUNCED BY MINISTER
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON; February A New single-storey staff quarters are to be built at the Chateau Tongariro to replace the buildings destroyed by fire last September, the Minister in Charge of Tourist Resorts (Mr E. H. Halstead) announced today. Mr Halstead said it was hoped that Long Lodge, which had been used temporarily as staff quarters, would again be available for winter sports accommodation this year.
The new staff quarters will provide accommodation for both married and single staff members.
