INFANT DROWNED AT TEMUKA

17-MONTHS BOY FALLS INTO STREAM

(New Zealand Press Association) TIMARU, February 4. An infant aged 17 months was drowned this afternoon about 3 o’clock when he fell into a stream on the roadside near his parents’ home at Milford, Temuka. He was: Michael Joseph Jeremiah Galbraith, son of Mr and Mrs R. H. Galbraith, Boiling Down road, Milford. Missing the child from the house the father started a search and found the infant face down in the 3ft-deep stream. Artificial respiration was tried by Mr Galbraith and a passer-by, Mr R. D. Clark, of Temuka, but without success.
