HIGH TEMPERATURES YESTERDAY
93 DEGREES RECORDED AT ASHBURTON
The temperature in Ashburton yesterday reached 93 degrees, to equal the hottest day of last year—January 29, which was the hottest for four years. At Waimate, a temperature of 90.2 degrees was recorded at the meteorological observation station at 2 p.m. Last night was the hottest Christchurch has experienced this month. At midnight the temperature was 73 degrees at the meteorological station at Harewood airport. At 9 a.m. yester- ?+ ay }he temperature was 67.3 degrees.
