“Fool Statements” Cost U.S. Friends
I (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 7.30 p.m.) PHILADELPHIA, December 13. A former President, Mr Harry Truman, said today that “fool statements” ; have cost the United States friends in ; the conduct of foreign policy. Mr Truman, at a press conference. I also said that the United States foreign { policy today is “just what I set up.” * But, he said, "We have lost a lot of ' friends by fool statements by persons in high places.”
