METHODIST MISSION’S APPEAL
At Christmas the Methodist Central Mission tries to help those who may not have others to express to them the goodwill of Christmas in practical ways. The mission will hold functions for elderly people who live alone, and at the Methodist eventide homes. To help old people, children from broken homes, prisoners, and mental hospital patients, the city missioner, the Rev. W* E. Falkingham, has appealed for gifts of food, sweets, toys, cakes, Christmas puddings, or money. “We will do our best to make this a happy Christmas for these folks who are in genuine need; but the extent of our Christmas goodwill is dependent on the practical support we' receive,’’ said Mr Falkingham. Gifts may be left at or posted to the mission’s office in Cathedral square.
