London Owners Stave Off New Threat
(Rec. 11.45 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 5. Shipowners today staved off the threat of a new strike in the Port of London by calling a temporary halt to the employment of non-union tallyclerks on the waterfront Non-union clerks will not be worked pending discussions between two waterfront unions and employers.
