REMEMBRANCE DAY TOMORROW
Tomorrow will be Remembrance Day. An appeal for its observance by citizens and traffic-control authorities throughout New Zealand was made by the Prime Minister (Mr Holland) in the Gazette recently. It , is asked that two minutes’ silence should be observed from 11 a.m., and that all vehicular traffic should stop during that period. “The Government trusts that churches will agree to arrange, as far as practicable, for a morning service on this day to commence at 10.45 a.m., and that two minutes’ silence be observed at 11 o’clock.” the Gazette notice continued. , At the Christchurch Cathedral the morning service will begin with the National Anthem, and a silence will then be observed. The- second lesson will be read by the Governor-General (Sir Willoughby Norrie). The Bishop (the Rt. Rev. A. K. Warren) will preach the sermon. Snecial Remembrance Day prayers will be included in the service.
