VICTORY PARK BOARD
ANNUAL MEETING HELD The last year had been a particularly busy one at Lancaster Park, said Mr H. W. Blazey, chairman of the Victory Park Board, at its annual meeting last evening. Nine Ranfurly Shield matches, a Rugby match between the North and South Islands, a match between an Australian University team and Canterbury University College, and 16 senior grade matches had been played during the winter season, he said. Other important events held at the park were a band contest, two Plunket Shield matches, and cricket matches between Fiji and Canterbury and a New Zealand team and the New Zealand touring eleven. Officers were elected as follows: chairman, Mr R. C. Saunders; deputychairman, Mr G. E. King; ground committee, Messrs D. A. Colville, King, and H. C. Blazey; conveners, Messrs H. C. Blazey (football) and Colville (cricket).
