WORKING MEN’S CLUB IN RICCARTON
SKETCH PLANS PREPARED Sketch plans of the new clubrooms for the Riccarton Working Men’s Club in Wharenui road have been prepared. After slight adjustments, approval of the plans vrill be sought at a meeting of members and the club will seek permission from the appropriate authorities to proceed with the project. It is estimated that the building will cover between 6000 and 7000. square feet, and may cost about £30,000. Plans provide for a large social hall, billiards room, card room, committee room, rifle range, library and reading room. Quarters for a caretaker will be attached. The club has given notice that it to apply to the Licensing Conttol Commission for a club charter. Outsiae it is proposed to lay a bowling green, lawns, and driveway, and possibly a tennis court.
