INCREASED BENEFITS FOR T.B. SUFFERERS
Sir,—The Minister ot Health is to be congratulated for his interest in the welfare of discharged T.B. patients, to the extent that it is intended to increase their sickness benefit when they are discharged, so that they will be free from financial worry until they are able to resume their normal worktog activities. I wonder, therefore, that he has not been concerned for the wives and children of such patients during the time the man is actually to the sanatorium. These people have Been exposed to infection, and should have plenty of protective foods and freedom from worry. On the present rate of benefit it is a continual rtniggle to make ends meet. Would the Minister consider increasing’ the grant from the time the man actually enters the sanatorium?—Yours, etc, „ , interested’ November 4, 1954.
