STRIKE ENDS IN LONDON
All Dockers Back At Work (Rcc. 11.30 p.m.) LONDON, Nev. 4. Nearly 7000 dockers who yeßtardgy. staged London’s third uuceecihre waterfront strike, returned to wwrk today and began unloading 75 ship* which were tied up in the stoppage. The dispute was over the alleged refusal of the employers to reinstate suspended dockworkers who declined to work with non-union lorry driver?. Though there was a full resumption of work, fresh trouble was rageshadowed over the suspension •£ 27 lorry drivers who refused to cross a picket line when the dockers were on strike. The drivers will appear before a disciplinary board this morning. The National Amalgamated Stevedores and Dockers’ Union, which led October’s big stoppage, have promised the drivers support “in the event of any further victimisation.” The union’s promise has been endorsed by the unofficial strike leaders who brought thousands of men out on strike from the powerful Transport and General Workers’ Union.
