CATTLE FLOWN TO NORTH ISLAND

Eight pedigree Jersey cattle left Harewood on a Dakota aircraft yesterday morning for Palmerston North, where they are entered in the Manawatu Spring National Stud and Dairy Bull Sale. A second consignment of nine bulls will leave Harewood today at’9 a.m. The cattle, which are mostly from farms in North Canterbury area, are transported in individual pens within the aircraft specially constructed for the purpose. This method of transporting cattle to the North Island has been used for the last four years. A telegram received by the National Airways Corporation yesterday afternoon from Palmerston North said the cattle had arrived in perfect condition.
