FOUR PERSONS INJURED
HEAD ON COLLISION NEAR METHVEN Four persons were injured when a car and a truck collided head on on the Ashburton-Methven road, about .three miles from Methven, at 12.30 a.m. yesterday. They were:— 1 Cuthbert Robinson, aged 48, Ministry of Works camp, Winchmore, multiple lacerations to face and concussion. James Charles Bushell, aged 38, 139 Middle road, Ashburton, laceration to the face, fracture of left arm, and concussion. Brian Williams, aged 15, Methven, slight lacerations to face and concussion. They were admitted to the Ashburton Public Hospital. Yesterday their condition was reported to be satisfactory. The other injured person, Edward Ellis, of Allen street, Methven, received medical attention for cuts on his face, and was taken to his home. The truck was driven by Mr John Hutchinson, of Methven, who had as passengers the boys, Brian Williams and Edward Ellis. Mr Hutchinson was returning to Methven from Ashburton. The driver of the car was Mr Bushell, who was accompanied by Mr and Mrs Robinson. Mrs Robinson was not injured.
