Lieutenant-Commander A. C. Lambert, officer commanding H.M.N.Z.S. Tasman at Lyttelton, is to retire from the Royal New Zealand Navy at his own request. He will relinquish his command on October 15 to take up farming at Port Underwood, near Queen Charlotte Sound. Mr G. H. Blair, of Yaldhurst road, has been appointed chairman of the New Zealand Potato Board for the next 12 months.
