OPENING OF NEW CLUB ROOMS
RICCARTON-FENDALTON R.S.A. In opening the new £4OOO clubrooms of the Riccarton-Fendalton branch of the Returned Services’ Association, Mr A. McLagan, M.P., who deputised for the Prime Minister (Mr Holland), thanked the Government for granting the club a subsidy for the building, and Congratulated the club on its achievement. The building was dedicated by the Rev. H. G. Norris, and Mr W. Tomlinson, one of the oldest members, unveiled a plaque to the memory of Mr D. Irvine, also a foundation member and an enthusiast for the project. Other speakers were the club’s chairman (Mr E, W. Prebble), the president of the Christchurch R.S.A. (Mr G. D. Hattaway), and Cr. E.. J. Bradshaw, deputy-Mayor of Riccarton.
