BOYS’ BREASTSTROKE RECORD BROKEN
(New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, October 1. J. H. Marks, of the Kiwi Club, the New Zealand junior boys’ 220 yards breaststroke champion, lowered the Otago junior boys’ 220 yards breaststroke record of 3min 9.9 sec by 8 i-ssec In a special attempt in the Municipal Pool last night. Marks’s time of 3min I.7sec was only o.7sec slower than his winning time at the New Zealand championships at Christchurch in January, and 4,7 sec outside the New Zealand record.
