Dame Flora, of Dunvegan Castle, Skye, hereditary chief of the Clan MacLeod, arrived in Sydney by air yesterday to begin a two-month tour of Australia. Dame Flora, who is 76, is on a sixmonth world tour to greet members of the MacLeod clan. Tartan scarves tossed, bagpipes skirley, and 100 people cheered as she alighted from her plane to be welcomed by the president of the Clan MacLeod Society of Australasia, Mr Hector MacLeod.

Later she will spend two months in New Zealand, then return to Skye through the United States.
