Indonesian Ordered To Leave U.S.

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 930 p.m.) NEW YORK, Oct 2. The ‘‘New York Times” reported today that Mr Hasan Mohammed Tiro, a former Indonesian Government official here, had been given until November 1 to leave the United States voluntarily or face deportation proceedings. His Indonesian credentials had been invalidated since August 15 when he broke with his Government, the newspaper said. Mr Tiro, who was chief of the economic research section of the Indonesian Information Office before his defection, had charged that Indonesia was Communist-dictated, the “New York Times” said. The newspaper said he had a closed hearing yesterday before a special inquiry officer of the Federal Immigration Department.
