Mrs White welcomed to Timaru the Canterbury provincial officers, Mrs W Grant (provincial president), Mrs H S’’J Pr JS d ?? (provincial secretary) and Mrs C. H. Stockbridge (provincial supply secretary). j hc . interest shown by Christchurch ana Ashburton members was evident P y the large numbers who travelled to Timaru by special bus each day t 0 ettend. A Christchurch chbir sang on both occasions. There was an excellent attendance of mothers from Timaru. The floral decorations in the league colours of blue and gold were a feaat each meeting. Mrs Grant presided at both meetings, explaining the origin, aims and objects, and functioning of the league. Mrs Pruden spoke on financial arrangements and Mrs N. Clapp (provincial magazine secretary) on the monthly magazine An integral part of League of Mothers work is the establishment of a creche and more than 30 children were cared for each day. A gift of a set of suitable toys was presented to each new creche by a Christchurch member. Officers appointed were as follows: West End branch, acting president, Mrs R. M. McLean? vice-president, Mrs F. Morgan; treasurer, Mrs L. M. Ritchie; committee, Mesdames R. H. Boulden, W. Hodgson, R. McDonald, R. S. McDonald and R. Jennings. Kensington branch: acting president, Mrs D. S. Broughton; secretary, Mrs M. Rice; treasurer, Mrs R. E Zwimpfer; committee, Mrs M. Calder and Miss Grace McKenzie-
