THE attention of County residents and the public generally, is drawn to the necessity for taking adequate precautions against the fire hazards which will exist during the coming summer months. Notice is also given that, pursuant to the provisions of the "Forest and Rural Fires Act, 1947.” the Waimairi County Council has declared a "Closed Season” from October 1, 1954, to March 31, 1955. During this "Closed Season” outdoor fires must not be lit in the County without first obtaining a permit. In the case of burning-off or similar fires, this permit is obtained from the County Council Office (’Phone 49-028) and in the case of household or garden rubbish fires, from the Christchurch Fire Board (’Phone 78-034); D.
