“At the last meeting of. the Eles Committee the question of the pric? sacks was raised,” said Mr R. T.l Millan, chairman of the board of Ik Wheatgrowers (N.Z.), Ltd., at fa me of the committee on Thursday, ‘it then pointed out that the Wheat C mittee had nothing whatever to do fixing the price of sacks. A short n on the sack position was given, how and it was stated that there w large accumulation of second-hand i in the country. For the informal members, I want to say that this s tion has now been reversed, and n than there being a surplus of sec hand sacks, a shortage appears to t developed during the last few weeks, ond-hand sacks which were being U by sack merchants for 5d and «d i a few weeks ago, are now being paid at the rate of Is 2d and Is 3d. 7hi< plies only to the 46in x 23in sacks no doubt it will have *it.s repercus on the prices of ail other sacks."
