INSECT CONTROL IN AUSTRALIA
An insect known as the Argentine ant, has become a pest in the homes and gardens of the people of Perth, Western Australia. To control the insects, which are half an inch long and can .. inflict a painful bite, a scheme costing £AIOO,OOO has been evolved. The insect colonies will be isolated from their food supplies by systematic zoning and the use of dieldrin, a recently developed insecticide.
