ANGLING IN SOUTHERN LAKES
LIMIT BAG REDUCED (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, September 23. The limit bag for acclimatised fish, trout or Atlantic salmon taken in the Southern Lakes has been reduced from 10 to six, not more than four of which may be Atlantic salmon, according to a notice in tonight’s Gazette. Quinnat salmon are not to be counted in the limit bag. Other clauses of the notice impose certain restrictions on methods of fishing in part of the Clutha river, permit trolling in the Waiau river and its tributaries, and prohibit trolling in Lake Dispute.
