CRIPPLED CHILDREN SOCIETY

The Canterbury and West Coast branch of the New Zealand Crippled Children Society held its September meeting at the new headquarters. Mr L. G. K. Simpson presided. It was decided to set up two new sub-committees to deal with aspects of the work that were assuming greater proportions.

It was reported that there were now more names on the register than ever before, and that there was an increasing need for more equipment, most especially for chain-drive tricycles for children with certain disabilities of their lower limbs, and for twin prams for the use of children suffering from congenitally dislocated hips. The receipt of many gifts was acknowledged, and an encouraging report on the work done by the recentlyformed hobby group was submitted.
