GRANT OF £lOOO A YEAR TO SISTERS
Appreciation “of the excellent manner in which the Society of Mary maintains the nursing services at the Chatham Islands” on behalf of the North Canterbury Hospital Board was expressed in a report adopted by the board.
The report, from the finance committee, recorded that the Mother Superior of the Missionary Sisters of the society had asked that the rate of payment for the service should be raisefl to £lOOO a year now that four sisters were permanently on the staff of the Chatham Islands Hospital. The request was agreed to by the board.
