U.S. Consul To Stay In Hanoi
(Rec. 10 p.m.) SAIGON, Sept. 22. United States Embassy sources said tonight that Mr Thomas Corcoran, the American Consul, would remain in i Hanoi “as long as possible” after the Vietminh takes over the city from the ’French on October 10. Workmen are installing iron grills over the windows of the United States Consulate. Mr Corcoran had bought fuel tanks and made other preparations for a long stay in the city, which will become the Communist capital of North Vietnam, the American Associated Press reported.
