FOUR MINOR FIRES YESTERDAY
Four small fires were attended J® units of the Christchurch Fire BW gade yesterday. The first, at 10.21 aJh was a rubbish fire at 60 Matlock street, occupied by John McGregor. aaniage was done by the fire. At 4.29 p.m. a call was received Kempthornc Prosser’s chemical worM. at Hornby, where a grass fire h«J broken out. There was no damage w property. p.m. one unit was sent t 4. 16 Rayburn avenue, where a chimnw fire had broken out in a house occw pied by Mrs Bessie Hill. No was done. Another grass fire was attended wj 7.13 p.m. by two units of the brigaw; one from the central station and one from Woolston. This outbreak occurrg on the Port Hills road property of wj Vega Battery Company. No damaS* was done.
