ITALIAN MINISTER TO N.Z.
DR. PIO MACCHI DI CELLERS APPOINTED
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 28. Dr. Pio Macchi di Gellers has been appointed Minister of Italy in New Zealand, the Minister of External Affairs (Mr T. C. Webb) announced yesterday. He succeeds Dr. Paolo deSimone de Riso, who left New Zealand in April and whose death occurred in Rome in July. Dr. Macchi di Cellers is at present serving with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome. His posts abroad have included Washington, Ankara, Buenos Aires, Tokyo, and Santiago. It is. not yet known when the Minister will arrive in New Zealand.
